My Name is Ramona Carraro

Drawing on her unconventional upbringing, Ramona Carraro’s work lends itself to the creativity and culture that she was surrounded by as a child, travelling around Europe with a theatre company.

It’s this unique conditioning that sets her photography apart, lending authenticity and a certain sense of perspective to her work that can only be achieved through the experience of living it.

Specialising in live events and portraiture, Ramona Carraro graduated with a BA(hons) Degree in Media Arts, and has since made her mark working with major players such as Glastonbury Festival, as well as smaller boutique events, like BoomTown and Love Box.

Ramona’s journey through theatre and festivals has taken her photography on a natural evolution towards portraiture, with people and the human connection at the heart of everything that she has done to date.

Whatever the subject matter or the occasion, big or small, one thing is certain, Ramona Carraro’s eye for detail, creativity and flair will capture the essence of the moment and deliver a lasting memory.

My Nikon Camera
‘I am currently shooting with one of Nikons newest cameras, the Nikon D810.  This is a full frame professional camera, which delivers amazing results, incredible detail and beautiful colours.

I have a second Nikon a D700 for those busy times at events when one camera and lens just isn’t enough!

For portrait session I will always use my beloved D810…. Its 36.3 MP gives such fantastic images. It never fails to impress.”

My Favourite Lens
“I use a range of lenses, my favourite and newest being the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8. Its perfect for both portraiture and event work. Its super fast, so fantastic in even low light conditions.

I invested in an 80-200mm Zoom lens for my event/performance photography. This was used when shooting acts such as MIA at Glastonbury.

I will also always have a couple of prime lenses in my kit bag, a 50mm and 85mm lens are both great for a number of shots including portraits.”

Ramona has taken photos for the Unfairground for the last few years. She has a unique eye and delivers edited photos in remarkable time.  Her photos have been used on UFG promotion and wider throughout Glastonbury Festival. I would highly recommend her talent, commitment and infectious smile again and again.

Working with Ramona was a delight. She photographed me a mere 12 hours before I gave birth and made me feel so relaxed, I was able to put on a show and we got some fantastic photos out of the session. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her in the future.

Ramona Carraro has made a photographic record of our ongoing Daemon or Doppelganger self-portrait workshop project for a good number of years now.
She has helped document and record an extensive number of individuals and their work, and the workshop environment and activity at events all over the U.K. & Europe.
She has always worked diligently and creatively to capture the festival atmosphere in a perceptive and interesting way, resulting in some wonderful images.
I look forward to working with her again!
